My trailer towing training courses will ensure that you are fully efficient on the following before towing a trailer on the road:
Trailers can be extremely large and heavy. Incorrect loading and towing of your trailer can seriously impact the safety of your trailer on the road. Towing a trailer without the correct skills and knowledge can be dangerous both to yourself and other road users.
Please make sure you have the skills and knowledge required to safely tow a trailer on the road.
If you are entitled to tow with your licence but need to brush up on your technique or lack confidence, I am happy to give you lessons on trailer towing. I will also keep you up to speed with all the current laws and regulations regarding towing!
Most students new to trailer towing will require a half day towing lesson - this approximately 4 hour lesson consists of all the fundamentals and required skills required to tow a trailer safely. This one-to-one course includes reversing in straight lines, around corners and parking, coupling and uncoupling the trailer, discussing the laws on trailer towing, the importance of trailer weight distribution and how to keep your trailer roadworthy and legal.
This trailer towing lesson includes a 60 mile trip which includes motorway and dual carriageway driving (subject to training location), driving on hills and country roads as well as towing a trailer through town.
This course is priced at £230 and is offered on a one-to-one basis or I can accommodate a number of your friends and family where the cost can be shared!

All courses require a deposit of £50.00 on booking.
For students requiring more than half a day of trailer towing training, this course is also available as an extended full day course. The full day extended course can be taken as one-to-one tuition or students can share the cost on a two-to-one basis. This course consists of all the fundamentals and required skills required to tow a trailer safely, how to reverse in straight lines and around corners, coupling and uncoupling the trailer, discussing the laws on trailer towing, the importance of trailer weight distribution and how to keep your trailer roadworthy and legal. Bespoke courses can be arranged to suit your requirements.
This trailer towing lesson includes a 120 mile trip which includes motorway and dual carriageway driving (subject to training location), driving on hills and country roads as well as towing a trailer through town.
This course is priced at £375 and is offered on a one-to-one basis or I can accommodate a number of your friends and family where the cost can be shared!

Training is completed using your own vehicle.
Alternatively, training can be undertaken using my vehicle at an additional charge to cover fuel (dependent upon course taken). My vehicle is a Toyota Invincible with a reverse camera to assist with coupling and uncoupling, the trailer is a twin axle box trailer.
Trailer towing lessons are fully tax deductible if you are self-employed or run a company.
